I had a great day today, full of running, bagels, skating (7 hours. champs say whuuuut) (what?) and Catfish. This pretty rad documentary shows photographer Yaniv Schulman (Nev) becoming increasingly involved with the family of an 8-year-old, Abbey, who reproduces his art as paintings. In un shocking twist of events, Nev learns that the people with whom he has been in contact are in fact the imaginings of Angela, the family’s mother (and even she is not who she seems)! The sequence of his discoveries is uncomfortably familiar (I thought, and I’m sure I’m not alone in being or knowing someone who has encountered an internet “fake” in this generation). I would highly recommend checking it out!
